As a giant stars fuel reaches a low state it colapses under its own gravity, thus the mass reduces by a high magnitude. What happens next is the fact that there is a lot of pressure in such a small space  it rips a hole in the space-time fabric. What exists on the other side of this hole is open to speculation, there could possibly be a dead dimension or maybe a dimension unrecognisable with carbon based lifes limited senses. Whatever the case the journey through the hole is thwart with danger due to the forces that exist in such a scenario. Also the laws of existence in the unconcealed dimension could possibly be very different from our own so if we reached the other side we would be like a fish out of water sort of speak. In other words without further investigation it is best to stay on the familiar harbour we like to call the Universe until evolution sees a route to another friendly dimension which ultimately could be created by ourselves just like your own little abode. So count your blessings that the Universe and its laws are ripe for our particular forms of life and watch the seasons pass by to the ultimate journey thus far, the journey to the other side.
