Einstein had us believe that time is linear, it travels one way like a one way street. This is not true we exist in the past, present and future all controlled by our consciousness. The past is our memories, the present is our observation in our current state and the future we see based on past experiences and logical assumption. You may argue that the future we see doesn’t always come to fruition but all the futures do in the multi-verse. Thus time is not a fourth dimension but an illusion that has been created by carbon based existence to make sense of the world around us. All the past, present and future experiences already exist waiting for our consciousness to take a slice out of the loaf we call time. So what will be will be and there is nothing we can do to change the celestial map of existence and reality like a process that is engaged just like a warp on a starship. The only difference is the fact that this warp is natural, or is it?
